IKEA adds augmented reality to 2013 catalog

IKEA has been putting out a catalog since 1951 that reaches 211 million consumers worldwide each year. Over the last few years the catalog has evolved from print, into (last year) an iPhone, iPad and Android app, and now this year, into an augmented reality experience.

As you can see from the video above, IKEA has added a new feature to its catalog. Smartphone users will be given the option to download an app allowing them to access films, interactive experiences, photo galleries, and even use xray vision to see inside furniture.
